Goon

From Wikipedia,

Goon is a slang term referring to thugs hired by bosses or other authorities.
I'm not even sure what these are... some kind of wet tissue? But I can't imagine that any self-respecting Yakuza would actually use something packaged like this.

5.5 Terapixel camera

I have photographic proof of the existence of a 5.5 Terapixel camera. That's 5.5 TRILLION pixels! Please appreciate the extreme difficulty I had in obtaining these photographs... the child had to be distracted before I could even get close to this camera.

Dog food

Yes, that's right... this is dog food. Doggy type cakes and puddings in fact. I wish I could afford to eat this well.

Healthy and fresh fish

False advertising... these fish don't look all that healthy to me. They look slightly dead!

Crazy cars

OK, this is difficult to explain, but I'll try my best. I do have a video to go with this post, but it's too dark, so I'll try to take another one when I have time.

I drove past a beach the other Saturday night, at about midnight. There was a huge parking area, with about 40 cars parked, with empty space between every car, and their lights on. That isn't surprising (except for all of them having their lights on). What was really surprising was the other 60 cars driving round and round, in a big circle, and sometimes stopping beside a parked car. They sometimes stopped for a couple of minutes, sometimes for longer. Then they would move, and join the circling cars again, with the parked car remaining. Or, both cars would drive off together, and leave the parking area.

My friend tell me this is a Japanese system of meeting new people, either to make new friends, or just sex. The cars that were parked with the lights on were the girls (usually two girls per car). The cars circling were the guys (again, usually two guys). The guys would stop beside a parked car, both parties would wind down their windows, and they would chat. If there was no spark, the guys would rejoin the circling cars. If the liked each other they would chat for a while, then drive off together.

I've never seen such a thing before. Hell, I've never even heard of this! But it sure seems to be a cheap and direct way of meeting new people!

Push the switch!

This is a really crappy photo that I took of the Ferris wheel in Yokohama. As you can see, it's really crappy. The photo I mean, not the wheel. Actually the wheel was pretty cool.

This is the same wheel (maybe) taken by somebody else who isn't me. I borrowed it from another site. Hopefully they won't miss it. I guess I'll have to return it if they get upset. Anyway, the other site is http://armanontour.tripod.com/japan/journal7.htm His style of writing is enjoyable and fills me with bright lights of wisdom. Or am I having another break from reality? No, I DID enjoy reading his site.

That's right, I had a point to this post. While I was sitting inside the car (carriage, box, gondola, steel and glass cage) I saw there was a tiny little switch, and a big red notice...

I SO wanted to touch that switch. Not only touch it... but caress it, love it, and then push it madly until the whole wheel fell apart...

G String

I was at a game centre, and noticed somebody squatting on the floor, with their pants showing from the rear... about 10 centimeters above their jeans. On closer inspection I saw it was a G string (Or T-back as it is known over here... which actually makes more sense in my mind). Not any old G string, but a new, lacy, white, sexy G string. Cool! So I went in for an even closer look... that is when I saw HIS face. Dear God... (( ( ( (;^^)/

DVD copy

Found this magazine in a konbini the other day (sorry, I had to use my keitai to snap the photo). It gives detailed instructions on how to copy commercial DVDs, talks about copy protection, and even gives lots of detailed instructions on how to set up torrents. Including Winny... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winny a Japanese P2P file-sharing program.

Haircut

OK, so I went to a hairdresser today, I've been to the same shop once before, so I thought it was a pretty safe place to go back to. I mean, I got a simple haircut last time, and it turned out pretty well. Anyway, the guy that cut my hair last time wasn't around, but a nice older lady took care of me. Sure, I got a haircut... but I also got a shave... my neck was shaved, my face was shaved, my forehead was shaved, my NOSE was shaved, and my ears were shaved. Is this normal? I'm not complaining, but since when do people get their nose shaved??! Have I become so out of touch? Is this the latest craze at the moment? Or is it a Japanese thing? I've NO idea.
The massage was really good though. Oh, and the haircut itself turned out well. I think. I can't see very well at the moment, because of the special cream(?) she rubbed all over my face... it seems to have shrunk my skin. Everything feels tight. So my eyeballs are kind of stretched. Oh well.
